Bad Eisenstein

We drove to Bad Eisenstein (a German town) that sits right on the Czech border. Actually, one side of the station is on German ground, the other on the Czech. We even saw some evidence of the former Iron curtain.

Weekend in München

We had a fun weekend in Munich covering over 16 miles on Saturday by foot. We climbed to the top of the tower in Saint Peter's church and saw too many sites to name them all.  The students got some much needed shopping time and in the evening we went to an English garden for dinner.

Sunday we covered much of the town via a guided bus tour with the peak of our trip including a stop at BMW headquarters and the Olympic garden from 1972.  We had more than a few exhausted kids on the train ride home, but it was well worth it.

Regensburg

Today we drove to the old city of Regensburg. We went on a boat trip on the Danube, walked through town with a guide and had lunch on the other side of the Danube with beautiful views of the city.

Neuschwanstein

After an early, long bus ride we visited the castle "Neuschwanstein" of King Ludwig II. and walked through the beautiful setting. There was just enough time for a quick snack and souvenirs before we headed back to the city square in Deggendorf to watch the soccer match between Germany and the US.

Kloster Metten

We visited Monastery Metten today. We walked through beautiful meadows and the forest to get to it.
